摘要:We give a new approach to compute irreducible characters of the general linear group over 

the finite field. Character theory of GL(n,q) was a classic result of Green that shaped

 representation theory. Zelevinsky also used PSH Hopf algebras to reformulate Green's theory. 

The vertex algebraic method enhanced Green's theory and we realized the Hall algebra using two

 Fock spaces corresponding to extensions of Galois fields and their duals. As a result, 

a general formula of character values is obtained. Joint work with Yu Wu.
